Pregnancy Goals ☁️

I started my pregnancy with a lot of emotions; mainly excited but overwhelming. Something you hear about but are never prepared for is the hormone changes your body goes through. I cannot express how intense that was for me. I had so many ups and downs and tears and exhaustion. It was hard to get out of bed in the mornings because my body just wanted to rest. Yet, I have a full time job and I gotta do what's best for our family! The first trimester is definitely a hard one.

Second trimester is here for me and I'm already feeling so much bettr! I have so much more energy, more appetite, and more excitement overall!

I created some goals for myself for the next 5.5 months of this pregnancy! Some I have already been doing and some I want to work on more throughout the next few months!

GOAL #1: Workout 3-4x's a week!

This goal I have been working on since I found out I was pregnant. Every week I aim for 3-4 lifting workouts. If I get more than that and have the energy, then that's great. But, I also don't penalize myself if I end up not making it to 4. I never want to force myself to do something that I'm not feeling. Especially during this time when my body is going through a lot of changes. Sometimes rest is needed and it's highly encouraged! *I've been lifting for years prior to this pregnancy, so my doctor said I am good to keep going! I've been feeling great and just modifying specific workouts throughout!

GOAL #2: Journal Weekly

The day I found out I was pregnant, I bought this book from Skin and Senses. This is probably my favorite purchase I've bought throughout my pregnancy so far. It has 52 weeks of journaling and weekly prompts that will help you remember your time and document your thoughts and feelings! You can include pictures, add any notes, your appointments, packing lists, and so much more! I am so in love with this book! It gives me a space to document my weekly thoughts and I can see how big baby grows every week!

GOAL #3: Daily Walking

This one goes with working out, but even if I don't get a lift in, I make sure to talk a daily walk. Walking has so many benefits to you and to baby! Walking can help prevent some joint ahces and pains and helps to strengthen your body. Walking can also improve some of those negative thougths and mood swings. In my first trimerster, I had some really low lows and walking actually helped get me out of those moods. It helped to level out my mood and feel better overall.

My husband and I do these walks together so we can bond and get some fresh air every day! It's been a sweet time and really helpful for the both of us!

GOAL #4: Take Weekly Update Videos:

Each week, I take a weekly update video! I wanted to take a weekly photo, but that's just not something I was able to keep up with, so I'm sticking with my videos! These videos document the size of baby, what's new growing for baby, and how I'm feeling that week! I love these videos because it's something I love looking back on and seeing all the changes that me and baby are going through week by week!

I will cherish these videos forever! 🤍

GOAL #5: Drink lots of Water

This goal is just because I'm not drinking caffeine and water is so beneficial. Yes, I pee 9 million times a day, but I'm honestly really proud of this goal. I want to keep drinking 3-4 of my big jugs of water. I find that when I drink more water, I feel better, my skin is super clear (even caring a girl with more hormones), and I have more energy. Throughout this pregnancy, I've barely drank any caffeine. It was hard at first knowing I can't really have much caffeine, but I'm proud that I stuck with it!

GOAL #6: 1-1 Time with Hubby

This last goal is an important one for me. This is the last time that me and my husband will just be me and him. We are brining a child into this world and that's shifting our lives into the parent world. We get to be more than just husband and wife. Now, we are upgrading to Mom and Dad. We are both so very excited, but also know that this is going to be difficult (as it is for all first time parents!). We want to spend as much quality time together, dates, games, spending time just talking, whatever it takes to make sure that we stay connected throughout this entire pregnancy and beyond.

Here are some things we are talking about together over the next few months:

  1. What is our birth plan?

  2. What is our post-birth plan?

  3. What are the roles that we are going to take on?

  4. What support do each of us need now, during, and after birth?

  5. How can I be the best partner to you now, during, and after birth?

We truly are excited to become parents and cannot wait till May 2024 when we welcome our baby girl to this world! We love you so much, little bird! 🕊️
